Welcome to the capital of Italian gold.

While Palladio is undoubtedly the master of architecture, gold is the master of the economy.

Each year Vicenza hosts VicenzaOro, one of the most important international trade fairs for gold which is attended by goldsmiths and jewellers from all over the world. On the back of this famous fair, a couple of years ago an elegant and fascinating museum was created: “Il Museo del gioiello” (The Jewel Museum) where you can trace the history of gold in Vicenza. Inside the museum you can also see priceless and exquisitely beautiful items.

Gold has always been used to represent power and wealth, making it one of the most precious and sought after elements. From the 14th century, it found a home in Vicenza where highly prestigious work had been carried out since ancient times. Export sales worth around 9 thousand billion have made Vicenza the Italian capital of gold production.
