Prosecco DOC Shockwave3 Wins the Prestigeous Line Honors at the Aegean 600

Read time: 7 min.

A dream-like two days. At 2:08:27 p.m. (local time), Prosecco DOC Shockwave3 crossed the finish line (the race had started on Sunday, July 5, at 2:00 p.m.) and claimed the prestigious Line Honours title at the sixth edition of the Aegean 600, which in just a few years has become one of the most fascinating and technically challenging offshore regattas on the global scene.

The Maxi Yacht 90, owned by the Monfalcone Yacht Club with Claudio Demartis as owner and Pompeo Tria as co-owner, led the race from start to finish and navigated the 605-mile course—a counterclockwise circumnavigation of the Aegean Sea starting and finishing at Cape Sounion—without making any serious mistakes.

Prosecco DOC Shockwave3, helmed by Lorenzo Bressani, Andrea Micalli, and Darko Hajdinjak —and with Stefano Spangaro making his debut in the Greek regatta—won a fiercely contested duel against the Greek crew of Aiolos, who, buoyed by their real-time victory in 2025, tried until the very end to thwart Prosecco DOC Shockwave3’s plans but ultimately had to “settle” for second place, just 2’09” behind the winners.

The Greek race course proved difficult to navigate, with extreme racing conditions ranging from violent winds to, for example, a start marked by sea state 7.

“I’m absolutely thrilled with this great result,” commented owner Claudio Demartis immediately after the race, “which rewards the work we’ve done since the end of last season to further improve the performance of the boat and the crew. I’m grateful to all the crew members and the support team who made it possible to win this well-deserved Line Honours. I’d also like to thank the owners and staff of Eratosthenes for all their hard work. As an owner, I’m very pleased to be able to celebrate a victory like this, which came at the end of a fiercely contested race that remained uncertain until the very end. I’d also like to offer my heartfelt congratulations to the crew of Aiolos, who sailed at the very highest level and came very close to repeating last year’s success. Finally, a special thank you goes to the organizers of the Aegean 600, the Hellenic Offshore Racing Club, who put together a spectacular event, meticulously planned down to the smallest detail and destined to grow even more in every respect.”

Prosecco DOC Shockwave3’s crew consisted of Lorenzo Bressani (helmsman/skipper), Andrea Micalli (helmsman/tactician), Darko Hajdinjak (helmsman/mainsail trimmer), Stefano Spangaro (helmsman/mainsail trimmer), Paolo Piccione (navigator), Andrea Bussani (tailor), Vid Jeranko (tailer), Nicola Dodich (tailer), Alberto Broggi (mainsail trimmer), Sebastjan Cettul (mainsail trimmer), Matteo De Luca (bowman), Giulio Maccarone (bowman), Ren Kaligarič (bowman), Matteo Leghissa (pit), Giorgio Rossetti Cosulich (pit), Samuele Pontani (utility crew), Giacomo Sala (utility crew), Ivan Valenta (utility crew), Vitjan Bužan (helmsmen), Claudio Carraro (helmsmen), Matteo Groppo (helmsmen), Giulio Bicego (shore team), Alberto Rizzi (shore team).

Prosecco DOC Shockwave3 has finished its race, but the Aegean 600 continues for the other 60 boats still competing in a truly complex and challenging race course.
