Starting in 2026, Prosecco DOC will make its debut in the world of tennis as the Official Sparkling Wine of the Internazionali BNL d’Italia, thanks to a three-year agreement that will run until 2028.
The historic competition, scheduled to take place at the Foro Italico in Rome from April 28th to May 17th 2026, is the most important tennis event in Italy, for both men and women. The 2026 edition marks a significant evolution for the Internazionali BNL d’Italia, with a refurbished Foro Italico increasingly focused on offering a world-class experience to an international audience. The new spaces, redesigned to be more welcoming and immersive, enhance the tournament’s appeal, making it an ideal setting for fostering a sense of community.
Among the expected participants are world number one Jannik Sinner, Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz, the defending champion, and champions of the calibre of Novak Djokovic and Alexander Zverev. In the women’s draw, world number one Aryna Sabalenka stands out, alongside Coco Gauff and Elena Rybakina, whilst Italy will be represented, among others, by Jasmine Paolini, the defending champion.
For the Prosecco DOC Consortium, this is a significant step, reinforcing an already well-established presence in the world of sport. In recent years, Prosecco DOC has supported numerous disciplines, sharing values such as commitment, determination and team spirit.

“Tennis embodies values with which the Prosecco DOC Consortium deeply identifies: elegance, precision, determination and a competitive spirit that makes for great entertainment. Our commitment to sport recently reached a historic milestone with our involvement in the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, the world’s largest sporting event. Today marks a new step: a three-year agreement that will see us become the Official Sparkling Wine of the Internazionali BNL d’Italia in Rome – our first-ever entry into the world of international tennis. For years we have supported sport in its various forms because top-level disciplines embody the same values that drive our appellation: courage, a spirit of sacrifice and perseverance. The Foro Italico is an extraordinary stage, frequented by the world’s best players and a passionate audience from every continent. Bringing Prosecco DOC there means celebrating Italian excellence: that of our wine and territory, and that of a country that knows how to combine beauty, talent and tradition.” – Giancarlo Guidolin, President of the Prosecco DOC Consortium.
The choice of the Italian Open is no coincidence: the Foro Italico is one of the most iconic sporting venues, attracting the world’s best players and an international audience every year. The partnership forms part of a broader strategy in which the Consortium is committed to supporting events and sports that embody authenticity and social value, strengthening the link between sport and Italian excellence.
With this debut on the world tennis stage, Prosecco DOC is preparing to toast a new season of international visibility, in the spirit of elegance and conviviality, at the heart of an event that combines history, innovation and sporting passion.
