Prosecco DOC reaches another record:
The Consortium for the Protection of Prosecco DOC is pleased to announce another record: bottling for the month of July exceeded 500,000 hl, a figure reached only once before in the history of the appellation.
The 513,569 hl bottled in July 2024 marks a 12.6 percent growth over the same month in 2023.
The seven months of 2024 (2,832,173 hl) go on to establish +5.2 percent over the same period of the previous year, a figure that could presage an excellent final result for the current vintage.
“This record is proof that consumers continue to recognize Prosecco DOC as a product of excellence, appreciated for its freshness and youthfulness by people of all ages,” comments Prosecco DOC President Giancarlo Guidolin. ”I am truly proud of the results obtained, which gratify the passion and unceasing work of the entire supply chain made up of producers, winemakers and bottlers, and reward the protection, promotion and enhancement activities carried out by the Consortium with foresight, attention to sustainability and innovation: characteristics evidently necessary for the durability of the Denomination.”
