Prosecco DOC Shockwave³, an autumn double victory: after the Trofeo Due Castelli, the Trofeo Bernetti follows

Prosecco DOC Shockwave³ kicked off the most intense phase of its competitive fall season in the best possible way, winning—in quick succession—first the 43rd Due Castelli Trophy and, a week later, the 55th Bernetti Trophy. These two consecutive victories confirm the excellent form of the Monfalcone Yacht Club’s Maxi 90 and set the sailing team on course for one of the season’s most anticipated events: the 58th Barcolana, scheduled for Sunday, October 11t.

With Claudio Demartis as owner and Pompeo Tria as co-owner, Prosecco DOC Shockwave³ has thus added its name to the roll of honor of the Due Castelli Trophy, organized by the Società Nautica Laguna del Villaggio del Pescatore, and then repeated the feat at the Bernetti Trophy, a traditional event held on the first Sunday of October and organized by the Società Nautica Pietas Julia.

This one-two finish adds to the real-time victories already achieved in 2026 at the Aegean 600 and the Brindisi-Corfu race, confirming the growth of the racing program and the optimization efforts carried out by the team throughout the season.

At the 43rd Trofeo Due Castelli, held in the Gulf of Trieste between the castles of Duino and Miramare, Prosecco DOC Shockwave³ led the race from the start, maintaining its lead over its rivals all the way to the finish line. The race, characterized by light and steady winds, allowed the team to successfully test the new mainsail, which is more than 25 square meters larger than the previous one.

A week later, on Sunday, October 4, the Monfalcone Yacht Club’s Maxi 90 also triumphed at the 55th Bernetti Trophy, once again following a close battle with the 100-foot Arca SGR. The two boats traded the lead in light and variable winds before Prosecco DOC Shockwave³ definitively took the lead in the final stretch, defending it all the way to the finish.

“I’m very pleased with the performance and spirit of the entire crew. Our relentless efforts to optimize the boat and sails allow us to compete even against larger vessels,” commented Claudio Demartis.

Prosecco DOC Shockwave³’s competitive fall season continues with a packed schedule of events:

  • Friday, October 9 – Barcolana Maxi
  • Sunday, October 11 – Coppa d’Autunno, as part of the 58th Barcolana
  • Saturday, October 17 – Venice Hospitality
  • Sunday, October 18 – Veleziana
