Official Sparkling Wine of the BNL Italian Open: Three-Year Agreement for 2026–2028
Rome, May 5, 2026. Prosecco DOC makes its debut in the world of major international tennis. Starting with the BNL Italian Open—scheduled at the Foro Italico in Rome through May 17—the Prosecco DOC Consortium assumes the role of Official Sparkling Wine of the historic competition, thanks to a three-year agreement that will accompany the tournament through 2028. This marks the Consortium’s first entry into one of the major events on the ATP and WTA world tours.

The Foro Italico is one of the world’s most iconic sporting venues: every year, the planet’s best players compete there before an international audience. The 2026 edition is expected to be one of the most spectacular in recent years, featuring champions such as Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, and Novak Djokovic in the men’s draw, and Aryna Sabalenka, Coco Gauff, and Jasmine Paolini in the women’s.
According to Giancarlo Guidolin, President of the Prosecco DOC Consortium: “Tennis embodies values with which the Prosecco DOC Consortium deeply identifies: elegance, precision, determination, and a competitive spirit that makes for great entertainment. The Foro Italico is an extraordinary stage, frequented by the world’s best players and a passionate audience from every continent. Bringing Prosecco DOC there means celebrating Italian excellence: that of our wine and territory, and that of a country that knows how to combine beauty, talent, and tradition.”
PROSECCO DOC AND THE WORLD OF SPORTS
This partnership is part of a well-established journey in the world of sports. In recent years, Prosecco DOC has supported numerous disciplines—from sailing to skiing, from rugby to volleyball—sharing their core values: commitment, a spirit of sacrifice, and teamwork. The most recent and significant milestone was its presence at the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, the world’s largest sporting event. Today, elite tennis represents an ambitious choice that aligns with the sporting vision the Consortium has built over time.
