Prosecco DOC celebrates the triumph of Ambassador Renè De Silvestro, the Italian athlete and Team Italy flag bearer who won gold and silver at the Winter Paralympic Games, celebrating with the event’s official bubbles.

Treviso, March 20, 2026 – With the conclusion of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Paralympic Games, the Prosecco DOC Consortium, as Official Sparkling Wine Sponsor, celebrates the extraordinary success of the event and, in particular, the achievements of its Brand Ambassador, Renè De Silvestro.

The skier from the Veneto region confirmed his exceptional talent on his home snow. De Silvestro reached the pinnacle of sporting achievement by winning the gold medal in the sitting Giant Slalom on the Olimpia delle Tofane course in Cortina, following an outstanding performance marked by determination in both runs. He also earned a prestigious silver medal in the sitting Combined event, adding yet another remarkable result to an already legendary career.

“Seeing Renè on the top step of the podium at Milano Cortina 2026 is a source of immense emotion and pride for us,” said Giancarlo Guidolin, President of the Consorzio di Tutela Prosecco DOC. “Supporting Renè on this journey means standing beside an athlete who perfectly embodies the values of our territory: daily commitment, professionalism, and the ability to turn every obstacle into a new opportunity. Prosecco DOC is proud to have raised a toast to these achievements, which reflect the excellence of Italy around the world.

I am very happy and proud to have been able to win in my home territory, on the slope where I grew up, in front of my family, my friends, and the sponsors who supported me throughout my preparation for these fantastic Paralympic Games. I am equally proud to be an Ambassador of the Prosecco DOC Consortium, which represents the excellence of our territory throughout the world,” commented Renè De Silvestro.

The bond between Prosecco DOC and Paralympic sport is once again confirmed as a meaningful commitment that goes beyond a simple partnership, celebrating athletes who, like De Silvestro, stand as international examples of skill, consistency, and resilience.

BIOGRAPHY OF RENÈ DE SILVESTRO

Born in 1996 and based in San Vito di Cadore, Renè De Silvestro is one of the leading figures in international Paralympic alpine skiing. Despite a spinal cord injury sustained after a training accident in 2013, Renè never lost his love for sport. He returned to the slopes in 2015 thanks to mono-skiing and made his World Cup debut in 2016.

His updated record includes:
• 4 Paralympic medals: 1 gold and 1 silver at Milano Cortina 2026; 1 silver and 1 bronze at Beijing 2022.
• 58 World Cup podium finishes and 2 World Cup discipline titles (Giant Slalom and Super-G).
• 6 World Championship medals (2 gold, 3 silver, and 1 bronze).

A champion in both sport and life, Renè rebuilt his career starting from athletics — specifically the throwing events of FISPES — before returning to his greatest passion, skiing, and becoming a key figure for the entire Italian Paralympic movement.
