President Guidolin: “In a complex context, the supply chain proved its unity. Sustainability, consumer protection, and value remain our priorities.”

Treviso, January 9, 2026 – Prosecco DOC, confirming its position as the world’s best-selling Italian sparkling wine, closed 2025 with 667 million bottles (+1.1% compared to 2024), worth €3.6 billion, of which over 82% was exported to 164 countries. This is an important result in a context marked by geopolitical instability, inflation, customs duties, and pressure on consumption.

“The data confirms the resilience of our Denomination in a year characterized by strong instability in the global economy,” said Giancarlo Guidolin, President of the Prosecco DOC Consortium. “Our Denomination has demonstrated resilience thanks to the concerted efforts of the entire supply chain: winegrowers, winemakers, and sparkling wine producers. It is this synergy, combined with our constant commitment to consumer protection, that allows us to face complex international scenarios with balance and foresight.”

Production figures:
Prosecco DOC: 606,891,509 bottles
Prosecco DOC Rosé: 60,360,239 bottles

Exports. Data relating to international markets for the period January-September 2025 show mixed trends. The United States remains the leading market (23.8% of exports) with growth of 8.0%, despite volatility linked to the introduction of tariffs. It is followed by the United Kingdom (+1.1%) and France, which, with significant growth of +21.1%, takes third place ahead of Germany (+3.1%). Positive performances were also recorded in other markets, both established and emerging, such as Greece (+22.4%) and Mexico (+14.5%). Some markets, on the other hand, are experiencing a downturn, reflecting specific geopolitical and economic dynamics.

In terms of consortium activities, 2025 saw the determined continuation of brand protection measures on global markets and promotional campaigns in 39 countries, generating 2.1 billion impressions. In 2026, the appellation will take center stage as the Official Sparkling Wine Sponsor of the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Games, an extraordinary global showcase for promoting the link between Italian wine excellence and the territory.

“For 2026,” concludes President Guidolin, “we aim to consolidate the value of Prosecco DOC and ensure fair profitability for the entire supply chain, in a scenario that will require attention and adaptability. Sustainability is a strategic priority: we are pursuing an ambitious project towards Sustainable Community certification according to the ISO 37101 standard, to integrate the environmental, social, and economic efforts of the supply chain into a unified and measurable system. The Low Alcohol (8-9 degrees) project also continues, designed to respond to new consumption styles in line with our constant call for responsible and conscious consumption.”
