De Silvestro reached the pinnacle of sporting achievement by winning the gold medal in the sitting Giant Slalom on the Olimpia delle Tofane course in Cortina, following an outstanding performance marked by determination in both runs. Despite a spinal cord injury sustained after a training accident in 2013, Ren\u00e8 never lost his love for sport.
