Danilo Cortellini, a young chef from Alba Adriatica (Teramo), just over 30 years old and since 2012 the head chef at the Italian Embassy in London, took part in Masterchef UK 2015 - The Professionals (the series for professional chefs) and was the only international contestant of the 48 participants to reach the finals.
He reached the fourth place, but in Great Britain, especially among his peers (Italian and non-Italian), he's now rather a celebrity. He has worked in some of the most famous restaurants in Italy, and beyond: his resume includes the San Domenico in Imola and Perbellini in Isola Rizza (Verona), as well as sous chef experience at Riccardo De Prà's Dolada London and experience at Alain Ducasse's Dorchester.
There are three keys to his cooking style: simplicity, seasonality and maximum to four ingredients in the dish, excluding oil and salt.
He has been the Ambassador of Prosecco DOC since 2015, a product to which he has dedicated two recipes published in the book' 4 Grosvenor Square'.
